CURACAODIVING PARADISECuraçao was originally formed from volcanic limestone, on which coral has been growing for centuries. Right from your first dive this is easy to see. Close in to the coastline you can see the most magnificent coral reefs. It's not surprising that scuba diving is one of the most popular sports on Curaçao. Fortunately this sport does no harm to the peaceful atmosphere or to the breathtaking underwater flora and fauna which have been there for more than 60 million years. With some 100 good spots for scuba diving along the whole of the south coast, Curaçao is considered by many to be a diving paradise. Just admiring a shallow reef is an unforgettable experience. Once you reach the deeper water beyond the edge of a reef, one of Curaçao's greatest and most impressive sights opens up for you. The water ranges from 81 degrees in the summer months to 78 in the winter months. Most divers are comfortable in a 3mm full wetsuit. Newer divers often get away with a shorty. The average depth of our reefs ranges from 20 to 30 feet down to 200 to 300 feet with a gradual sloping drop off. Most dive sites are less than a 20 minute boat ride! Sunset Diers operate two dive boats neither of which are run as typical tourist cattle boats. The 44 foot boat is rated for 24 divers but she carries a maximum of 18 to ensure your comfort. She is extremely wide with a beam of 16 feet and with 18 divers she is not crowded at all. The 31 foot boat is rated for 14 divers but Sunset Divers only take 8 divers on her! There is a house reef for easy shore diving 24 hours a day. While diving the house reef, you will regularly discover octopus, nudibrachs, eels, as well as seahorses and frogfish! The reef also has a submerged small airplane that is a great end to the dive as well as a great snorkel. You will be given a key to the gear storage room when you check in with the dive store. There are full tanks at all times so that you can enjoy great shore diving 24 hours a day 7 days a week! Previous visitors have called Sunset Divers the “Curacao live-a-board” on land. Once you check in, you will never have to touch your gear again. Sunset Divers take care of loading equipment on the boat, setting it up for you as well as changing it over to a fresh tank between dives, they will unload and rinse your gear upon return to the dock and hang it in the gear locker so it is ready to go when you have the urge for a shore dive! With service like that it is easy to see why Curacao is one of the world's premier diving destinations Your all inclusive package includes:
